How every number reaches the screen.
Official, reference, derived and market data remain separate from ingestion to display.
Parallel market estimates
USD, EUR and GBP estimates use the median of eligible source-reported dealer buying and selling quotes. These unofficial estimates remain separate from CBN data. Quote timestamps, single-source coverage and stale values are labelled. Source-reported archives and observations collected by FXRates are separate series; missing history is never invented.
CBN official
Buying, central and selling fields are reproduced from the Central Bank of Nigeria without alteration. NFEM is the official daily reference.
World FX reference
Currencies not published directly by CBN are derived through a daily USD cross-rate and always labelled as calculated values.
Licensed market layer
Global equities and indices activate only when a licensed provider is configured. Every quote carries live, delayed, closed or stale status.
Failure safety
A provider failure never overwrites the latest valid snapshot. Unknown schema changes are quarantined for review in the admin panel.
Attribution and disclaimer
CBN data is attributed to the Central Bank of Nigeria. Global currency references are attributed to Exchange Rate API. Market providers retain their own licensing and redistribution conditions. FXRates.ng provides information, not financial advice or an executable quote.
