Transcorp Group reported lower revenue and earnings in its unaudited results for the nine months ended 30 September 2026, even as its pre-tax profit margin improved. The company's announcement and exchange notice are dated 26 October.

Revenue was ₦357.4 billion, compared with ₦412.4 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, a decline of approximately 13.3%. Profit before tax fell to ₦111.4 billion from ₦124.5 billion, while profit after tax decreased to ₦75.1 billion from ₦91.4 billion.

The pre-tax margin nevertheless rose to 31.2% from 30.2%. A higher margin measures profit relative to revenue; it does not mean the total amount of profit increased. Earnings per share declined to 429 kobo from 534 kobo.

Management attributed weaker revenue to lower power evacuation at Transcorp Power, citing transmission and gas-supply constraints. It attributed the margin improvement to cost management and operating efficiency. Those explanations are the company's assessment, rather than independently measured causes.

Group results, not a new outage

These are Transnational Corporation's group figures, not the standalone results of Transcorp Power or Transcorp Hotels, and not earnings for the third quarter alone. The reporting period is distinct from the October disclosure date.

FXRates.ng's interpretation is that infrastructure constraints can remain financially significant even when a business improves its cost efficiency. The release does not announce a new nationwide outage or establish a future dividend, share-price or exchange-rate outcome.
