NGX Group's nine-month net profit rises 86.4%
NGX Group reported ₦14.7 billion in nine-month net profit, with transaction fees more than doubling.
Nigerian Exchange Group reported ₦14.7 billion in profit after tax for January–September 2026, an 86.4% increase, in a release dated 27 October. Pre-tax earnings reached ₦20.6 billion, up 83.3%.
Revenue rose to ₦27.3 billion. Transaction fees generated ₦20.7 billion, more than twice the year-earlier amount, while listing fees contributed ₦3.7 billion. The cost-to-income ratio improved to 49.7% from 52.3%, although operating expenses also increased.
Management linked stronger fee income to trading activity and broader digital participation. That explanation is the company's assessment; the results do not independently isolate how much growth came from technology, market prices or other influences.
For Nigerian readers, an exchange operator's earnings provide one view of the business behind securities trading and capital raising. They describe income earned by the company, rather than the return received by every investor using its markets. Fees paid across many transactions can grow even when individual investment outcomes differ.
FXRates' interpretation is that both revenue growth and spending discipline merit attention when reading these accounts. The figures cover a completed nine-month reporting period. They are not current share prices, a fourth-quarter forecast or evidence that the same pace of growth will continue.
